POOL PARTY CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER
by Eric Amtmann - Wednesday, 18 August 2010, 11:24 AM

PACK 107 – Pool Party 8/18 CANCELLED

I’m going to go ahead and get the word out earlier today instead of waiting until 5:00 to cancel this evening’s Pool Party. It’s pouring rain in downtown C’ville, and the forecast predicts more of the same all afternoon, with 50-60% chance of thunderstorms from 5-6 this evening. Radar confirms a large mass of storm weather in WV predictably heading this way, scheduled to arrive in Crozet after 4.

We are close to our next scheduled Pack event, so we are going to cancel the Pool Party and not reschedule.

However, since our freezer is stocked with 4 gallons of ice cream, the Pack will need lots of help eating it at the upcoming Lake Day!

coming up…

Lake Day

Sun August 29, 12:00-3:00

Lake Day at Mint Springs Games on the beach, and ice cream from the cancelled pool party

CAMPOUT WEATHER UPDATE

Saturday night campout at Sherando is on.

Weather forecast has held steady, so we're going to go for it.

PS - my apologies for the spotty communications.  Thursday afternoon's storm took out power to Monticello Avenue online services, which killed both the Pack 107 website and email listserver until sometime approaching midnight Friday.  Hopefully you were reached by telephone.

It’s not too late to signup!!!

Late registration deadline extended to Monday, June 7.

If you’re interested, don’t wait any longer!

See below for info and contact Sally Hanchett ASAP!

So far we have 7 scouts signed up, so carpools are possible.

If your son would like to do this terrific camp, June 21-24, at Chris Green Lake, please fill out the registration form and turn it in to me, Pack 107's day camp coordinator (directions below). The day camp, which runs 8:30am-4:30pm is open to rising Wolves, Bears and Webelos.

Download the registration forms at the Monticello District website:

Don't forget to attach 2 photos of your child and include an $85 check made payable to SJAC.

*VERY IMPORTANT*: We can only send scouts if we have adult volunteers! One adult volunteer is required for every THREE scouts that attend from our Pack. Please consider volunteering for at least one day and let me know by email which days you are available. Those who volunteer all 4 days receive $20 off the registration fee. Sibling camp (for ages 2-14) is available for the children of parent volunteers. We also need set-up and take-down volunteers!

Please drop off forms & payment at our house in Western Ridge:

From Three Notch'd Road/240, turn into the Western Ridge neigborhood onto Park Ridge Drive. Take your second left (after Lake Tree Lane) onto Park Ridge Court. We are at the end of the cul de sac, #5209, red brick and beige house with dark blue shutters. If I'm not home, there will be a plastic bin for the forms on the front porch.

Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

Cub Scouting is a family and home centered program for boys in the first through fifth grade. Tiger (6/7-year-olds), Wolf (7/8-year-olds), Bear (8/9-year-olds), Webelos I and II (9/10/11 year-olds) dens allow for age appropriate activities and learning.

Cub Scout Pack 107 is sponsored by the Claudius Crozet Park and supported by the Monticello District which is part of the Stonewall Jackson Area Council. Monthly meetings are generally the second Monday of each month during the school year at Brownsville Elementary School.
